Caltas has recently had great pleasure in donating three new competition paddle boards to the Port Sorell Surf Life Saving Club.
This new equipment will allow junior competitors to train and compete in surf carnivals enhancing their water safety skills which will help in their continual development towards their bronze medallion in surf life saving.
Employees of the Byron Bonney Group once again participated in the Relay for Life to raise vital funds for cancer research and services. The "Caltas Pumpers" managed to continually stay on the track for the entire event which included walking throughout the night carrying their trusty baton in the form of a decorated oil bottle.
Fundraising throughout the year was conducted via casual clothes days, snack bar sales, raffles and donations with a total amount raised of $2,500.
The Byron Bonney Group jointly contributed $4,368 towards the Victorian Bush Fire Appeal in March 2009. Employee's were very generous in their contributions by way of fundraising and donations.
The devastation caused by the Victorian Bush Fires touched all of us and we sincerely hope our small contibution helps to rebuild the communities that were lost.
Caltas has recently signed a commitment to support and abide by the principles of the new Tasmanian Heavy Vehicle Safety Code, launched by Minister Sturges on December 10.
Mr Bob Ruddick has recently been appointed as a Director of the Byron Bonney Group. The founding partner of the firm Ruddicks, which has been in operation since 1986, Bob's areas of expertise are in audit and business and financial advice. He remains closely involved with the management of many of Tasmania's larger privately owned companies and is also a registered company auditor.
Mr Philip Molineux, CEO of Caltas and Lloyds North, has recently been appointed Chairman for the Tasmanian Transport Association.

The Byron Bonney Group of Caltas and Lloyds North were the first companies in Tasmania to introduce TruckSafe accreditation systems to its transport operations. TruckSafe provides assurance to both Caltas and its clients with Chain of Responsibility - fleet maintenance, driver training, fatigue management and mass management compliance.
Caltas was a recent entry in the Best Solution to an Identified Workplace Health and Safety Issue in the 2008 Workcover Safety Awards.
A storage and transport container for an oil pump was specially designed and manufactured to capture any oil spills during the transfer of bulk oil into smaller containers on customer sites.Caltas has recently introduced a GPS tracking and vehicle diagnostics monitoring and reporting system into their fleet of fuel trucks.
The TOMR System consists of on-board computers, telematics solutions, equipment monitoring and diagnostics services. This will show vehicle location, journey details, etc., enabling our scheduling department to maintain prompt and efficient delivery services to our customer base.
Caltas has always been an industry leader and in recent months has appointed the first female delivery driver in the Tasmanian fuel industry, Kerri Connors. This is a reflection of our commitment to equal opportunity in the workplace.
