Caltas

The first Sustainability Committee meeting was held and the roles of members nominated.

The key goals of the committee were identified and the mission statement was agreed on as follows:

“Caltas aspires to become an industry leader in minimising the environmental impact of our operations through implementation of energy efficient strategies throughout all areas of our business.”

Possible future strategies in achieving our aim were identified, including minimising fleet idle time and reducing energy usage by utilising power savers on office machines and switching computers off at power points.

Several goals were identified to achieve before the next meeting:

- Identification of energy consumption activities
- Identification of opportunities to reduce energy consumption in these activities
- Familiarisation with legislative reporting requirements
- Research of sustainability initiatives currently employed by other companies
