Information about the Coronavirus (COVID19) that is kept up-to-date with current and new information as presented by Priminster Scott Morrison, the Australian Government Department of Health, Tasmanian Premier Peter Gutwein and the Tasmanian Government Department of Health. 


SUBJECT: An update regarding COVID-19 and recent government announcements.

As you are aware, the Australian and Tasmanian governments announced new measures to protect the Australian community from the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Caltas is adhering to all of the guidelines and we remain focused on fulfilling our role of providing the products and services you require, when you need them to allow you to focus on managing your business or lifestyle through this challenging environment. Safety, combined with a seamless delivery of our products and services to you, is our number one priority.

In light of the restrictions announced by the governments, we would like to advise that:

  1. Service stations, as an essential service, will continue to operate. We are acutely aware of the role our service stations play in maintaining the mobility of critical services, as well as the community. We will continue to operate our network of StarCard and Caltas/Bennett’s Wholesale Cards at our accepting sites.


  1. Our offices will continue to operate. As per above, our offices will remain open for all services, albeit under a strict business continuity framework, to ensure products continue to be available across our network.


  1. Interstate border closures do not impact supply security. As freight and logistics services have been excluded from border closures, interstate bans do not impact our ability to supply fuel or lubricants.


As Australia’s largest supplier of fuels, Caltex and Caltas continues to engage closely with both Federal and State Authorities to ensure that future policies do not impact our ability to keep the Australian Economy Operating. Furthermore, we are including further possible changes in our business continuity plan to ensure we are prepared for potential future announcements.

Our business continuity plan, combined with ensuring strict compliance with social distancing and hygiene practices recommended by Australian authorities, is receiving the highest priority. Additionally, our Logistics Team, continues to work with our partners to ensure these practices, communications and disciplines are extended across the whole supply chain.
